Flame-retardant grade

DSE's technology has been verified by thorough quality control and various certifications.

UL(Underwriters Laboratories)
Attainment of the safety UL standard is essential for an exterior material of electrical and electronic applications, and it is necessary to select a flame-retardant resin that meets the standards for materials used to manufacture product exteriors.

DSE HI BOX UL Certification List

What UL does

• Establishment of safety standards
• Specification-based product testing
• Publication of test results (for insurance companies, government agencies, relevant organizations, and the general public)
• Follow-up Services (A/S)

UL Factors (Test Methods and Standards)

✔ T HB Test (Horizontal Burning Test)

• Horizontal Burning Test: Measurement of burning time (low flame-retardant materials)

- Specimen: 5" x 1/2' x thickness - 5 specimens
- Specimen Aging Condition: 230, RH 50%, 48 hours or more
- Flame: Methane gas finch Blue Flame Burner 45° angle

T HB Test
Flame retardancy Thickness 1/8° or more Thickness 1/8° or less
HB Burning speed 1.5 inch/min or less Burning speed 3.0 inch/min or less

✔ Vertical Test

• Vertical experiment's burning time measurement (applied to flame-retardant materials)

- Specimen Aging Condition: Same as HB Test
- Flame: Methane gas, blue color single flame height 3/4"
- Test method: The test involves bringing the specimen into contact with the flame for 10 seconds and this is done 5 times. In other words, after the specimen with the flame for 10 seconds, and then, when the burning flame is turned off, the specimen is brought back into contact with the flame for another 10 seconds. Repeat the same test 5 times.

✔ 5V Test

• Applied to high flame-retardant resin

ⓐ Bar Test
- Specimen aging conditions are the same as in the HB Test
- Flame: Double flame (inner flame: 1.5 inch, outer flame: 5 inch)
- Test method: bring into contact with the flame for 5 seconds, remove flame for 5 seconds, and repeat 5 times

ⓑ Plaque Test
- Specimen: 6"x6" x thickness, 3 pieces
- Test method: bring into contact with flame for 5 seconds, remove flame for 5 seconds, and repeat 5 times

※ If the entire table is not visible, you can scroll the table left and right to check the entire table.
